Getting ready for a fellowship at Vermont Studio Center, so I decided to do a small series of panels, "Hello My Name Is (John Henry)" This is my first time traveling to Vermont, so I'm hoping to explore some new surroundings and create a number of large pieces. Considering I can't bring spray paint and other supplies on the plane, these will help with shipping supplies and work back to my studio in Louisiana. Back in 2013 I did a collaborative show titled, "Uncle Tom's Watermelon Rebellion of 89", in which myself and artist Johnathan Wilson tackled black folklore. Considering I'm a huge rail fan :cough cough:, it just made sense to do a series about John Henry. You can actually check out the early name tags and a review of the show HERE. Since then, I've done a number of studio paintings, as well as graffiti pieces using this crude minstrel aesthetic. The pieces are $100.00, and are all signed/dated on 9"x12" wood panel.
